Over 1000 UK personnel from all three Services gathered at Kandahar Air Field, Southern Afghanistan, to mark Remembrance Sunday in November 2008.
As the last post sounded across the base, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen fell silent to remember all those who have given their lives in conflict, especially colleagues lost in Afghanistan. Earlier they had listened as the Roll of Honour was read out, listing those who had died in the country.
Personnel at Kandahar provide support to UK forces across Afghanistan, including supplies and air support.
